letter of support for the Asitia Abstinence Education Program
conducted by the Pregnancy Support Center. Does this program work?
Rutherford County was at an all-time high in the rate of teen
pregnancies until the implementation of the Asitia Program. Since
its inception in our middle schools and in our high schools, the
teen pregnancy rate has continued to decrease. I strongly believe
this abstinence education program has made a tremendous difference
in the way our students think about relationships and about
themselves.
I highly recommend the Asitia Abstinence Education Program.”

Curriculum Overview
The Why kNOw Curriculum, used by the Asitia
Abstinence Education Program, is currently being taught in 24
Tennessee counties, 19 states and 6 foreign countries. Why kNOw is
on the State of Tennessee approved list of abstinence education
curricula and has been reviewed and approved by the Coordinators of
Instruction at the Rutherford County School Board.
