Abstinence Education Program Curriculum - 7th Grade
(From
the Why kNOw? Abstinence Education Program)
Seventh grade curriculum provides an
exercise in setting long range life goals. It also teaches
that achieving them is a step-by-step process -- the sum of
responsible daily decisions. Conversely, failure to succeed is
also a gradual process of moving away from dreams. Students
examine the power of media influence on the culture and ultimately
their decisions. They are challenged to set high standards for
their lives and their future dates and mates. Seventh graders
also learn the origins of marriage traditions and their relevance
for today.
